Good evening before the Sabbath. I hope all of you have had a good week. Let’s see if I can catch you up on our happenings. We have been quite busy since being back from Texas and New Mexico. I think I have said that our trip was wonderful. The condo, the time with friends of almost 40 years, the weather, even my energy level were all super. We are so thankful for all of this. Nov. 12: sore throat and headaches started; called Dr./Deacon Donna and made an appointment. 14: Donna decided that I didn’t have an infection but it was headed that way so she prescribed antibiotics; also had a pneumonia shot. 18: appointment with Dr. Penley and he’s still working on a plan forward; went to Donna’s for a tetanus shot (I’m caught up on all my shots, I had the flu shot earlier). 19: appointment with Dr. Cockrell, podiatrist, and my toenail is healing fine; my headaches were still happening and even the strong pain meds didn’t help; talked with Donna and she suggested a brain scan. 21: appointment with dermatologist in the morning; MRI in the afternoon. Skin-wise I’m fine – that’s good news. According to the MRI tech, the good news is that I do have brain matter! Nathan says that’s a good place to start. Other news on the brain deal is that I have some sinus fluid that is causing my headaches and balance issues. I’ll take different antibiotics and then redo the scan in about 3 weeks. I have missed seeing all of my medical professional peeps and so I got to reconnect with most of them! They are all still just as nice, considerate, professional, friendly, reliable as ever. We are so thankful for all of them and the excellent care we have received and continue to receive. We don’t take that for granted because not everyone has that. I’ll not be worshipping with the corporate body tomorrow since I need to get this sinus stuff taken care of. I have been bragging that during the last 20+ months, I have not gotten sick even though my immune system has been very low. I have repented of bragging! Our whole family is coming in for Thanksgiving and we are excited about that. Marianne Meriwether has offered to help with the Thanksgiving table and we appreciate that. She is a wonderful cook and has provided many meals for us during the last 20+ months. She is very generous. I’ll do some of the cooking and the kids and spouses will pitch in, as always. We’ll try to keep it simple – we’ll see how that works for me! I thank You, Lord, for each new day, for meadows white with dew, For the sun’s warm hand upon the earth, for skies of endless blue, For fruit and flower, for lamb and leaf, for every bird that sings, With grateful heart I thank You, Lord, for all these simple things. I thank You, Lord, for wind and rain and for the silver moon, For every daisy’s lifted face, for every lovely tune, For winter’s white, for autumn’s gold, for harvest and for home, With grateful heart I thank You, Lord, for each good gift I own. I thank You, Lord, for hand and heart to offer up Your praise. I thank You, Lord, for tongue to speak of all Your loving ways. For health and strength, for work and play, for loved ones far and near, With grateful heart I thank You, Lord, for all that I hold dear. We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving week with family and friends. Always know that we thank God for each of you and count you are treasured blessings. Love and hugs, Honey and Mark
