Good evening everybody, and usually this would just be regular - TopicsExpress

Good evening everybody, and usually this would just be regular night as we look to the Asian Champions League action, even though it is the final match of the group stage, and all three A-League clubs still have a chance of qualifying for the last 16 of the competition. However, it is safe to say that Planet Football is abuzz with the earlier news today that Manchester United has parted ways with manager David Moyes after 9 months, and plenty of chat about whether it was the right decision, and where to now for one of the worlds biggest football clubs. Plenty of news and reaction throughout the night, especially given that it is only mid-morning in the UK. The latest news out of Old Trafford is that Ryan Giggs will take charge of the team ahead of the match against Norwich City. But we have a big night of Asian Champions League, and we kick it off at Pirtek Stadium where Western Sydney Wanderers only need a draw to advance to the knockout stages of the competition. And their chances may be helped given that their opponents Guizhou Renhe cannot make it through, therefore it will be interesting to see how they will approach this contest. Here is team news from Pirtek Stadium: WESTERN SYDNEY WANDERERS: Covic, Golec, Beauchamp, Topor-Stanley, Cole, La Rocca, Mullen, Trifiro, Appiah, Haliti, Juric. Subs: Tyson, Polenz, Heffernan, Mooy, Ono, Hersi, Santalab. GUIZHOU RENHE: Sheng Peng, Xiang Hantian Yu Rui, Wan Houliang, Liu Tianqi, Guo Sheng, Yang Hao, Yang Yihu, Fan Yunlong, Qu Bo, Shen Tianfeng. Subs: Li Chunnnyu, Wu Dinggmao, Zhao Jun. A strong line-up for the Wanderers as they only need a point, while quite the opposite for Guizhou, who are missing as many a six regular first team players, including captain Sun Jihai and all their visa import players as they field virtually a skeleton team in a match that has no motivation other than pride. Kick off on half an hours time, and will also keep an eye on the other group match in Group H as Kawasaki Frontale host Ulsan Hyundai at the Todoroki Athletic Stadium, with kick off at the same time. Melbourne Victory are also in action as they take on Jeonbuk Motors at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium, and with Group G on a knife-edge as all clubs are on 7 points, it should be a tense night with Guangzhou Evergrande hosting Yokohama F Marinos at the same at Tianhe Stadium. Big night of Asian football coming up.
