Good evening everyone. A quick update on did weve featured recently- Elsie, Fraiser, Joe, George and Robson are still waiting for forever homes. Tonights star dog is Jack a 3 year old Staffie. Rather than tell you about him well let Tanya who fostered him over Xmas do the honours. Hello, Heres everything we learnt about sweet, little Jack in his time with us. The first day he was very timid, kept pushing him self into me, afraid of our dog. We kept them distant but our dog is large and giddy, so jack was frightened. He is toilet trained, we didnt have one accident with him. He walked beautifully on the harness we donated to him when we brought him back. He walked really well next to our dogs and in passing other dogs. No issues there at all. He loves his food- not so much the kibble, but he loves meat! He doesnt counter surf or beg, in fact the opposite, he just waits, not expecting anything. He did jump the baby gate thats 4 feet, on numerous occasion and I let him have a go on some agility jumps in the garden. He would be amazing!!! Much better than my dog, whos actually having training! He loves a game of tug! Likes to lick your face and will just come and cuddle you ❤️- typical staffie 🐶 Jack settled in by the second day and was no longer timid. He let us bath him, no issues being handled at all. He had no reactive points, he really doesnt mind being touched! The issue we had is jack likes to mount his dog friends, never us humans though. We used vocal cues when he tried it and treats when he wasnt doing it. I think with training hed be able to over come it. But our dog did not like it, he kept going in his crate and curling into the back of it. Or hed try to bite jack when he was doing it. They probably only had about 2 hours, spread out over a day in the same room. Which was a challenge, as like I said, jack jumps the gate, haha! I just didnt want to risk either getting hurt, so we couldnt officially adopt! He is one amazing little staffie though, so gentle and sweet! I keep posting everywhere in hope we can find him a home, he just needs a couch to curl up on- though he was happy with a cold laminate floor, next to the warm cozy bed we got for him!
