Good evening everyone, I hope you have had a great Christmas day. Snow update / * early warning: tomorrow morning will start on a cool note at 1C, perhaps some icy spots here and there. Through the day cloud will dominate, a fairly grey evening. Highs of 2C, feeling very cool. Weather warning: Sleet or rain is likely from 4-6pm, although from roughly 6pm (give or take an hour), this precipitation is likely to turn readily into snow, posing the threat of a few centimetres of snow to Buxton, perhaps up to (10)cm, for ground above 400 meters, and 1-3cm of snow for elevations between Stockport and Buxton, including Macclesfield, Whaley Bridge and Chapel. Even Stockport might see a dusting. This will be a fairly significant spell of snow, therefore please take journeys with extra precaution and preparedness tomorrow evening, especially for higher passes such as the A53,A537, Snakes pass Etc. This will clear, to leave snow cover and a fairly cold, frosty Sunday with the legacy of wintry showers. Exactly how much snow will fall, and timings are still a little uncertain. We will post another update tomorrow morning at around 8am. Although confidence is around 70%, that the Buxton and surrounding areas will be affected by significant snowfall through tomorrow evening. After 6pm, and continuing through the evening. Thank you for reading.
