Good evening everyone and Christs Peace. ENDURE S: Mark 13: 13 -- And everyone will hate you because you are my followers. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. O: We experience challenges every day. Some are small which cause minor irritations while others have the potential to change our lives, either causing us to turn towards God or turn away from Him. Regardless of the challenge, our choice is clear...choose God and endure for those that persevere to the end will be saved. It seems so easy, just to choose God but for many of us, myself included, this is not our first instinct. Our initial reaction to adversity is to work harder, employ more of our material resources, spend more time, expend more energy and do it ourselves. The question we should be asking ourselves when the winds of adversity blow is...What would Jesus do? Usually the answer isnt a complicated one. A: With Gods help, we can overcome any challenge that life throws at us. If we trust in the great I AM and put our faith solely in His plan for our lives; we can never go wrong. Unfortunately, many of us have learned to try and rely on ourselves alone or on the resources of this world to help get us through, rather than relying on God. We struggle many times, spinning our wheels trying to figure out for ourselves why something bad is happening to someone good. Our challenge is not to rely on our own understanding but to give it over to the Lord who is waiting to guide our hearts and lives each day. We may never understand why things happen the way that they do but we cannot mistake the work of the Master Planner who is alive within us. Our obedience to His gentle guidance is all that we need to pay attention to in order to move forward. Miracles happen when our faith in God alone is allowed to move mountains. I, for one, need to constantly remind myself that putting all my faith and trust in God should be my first priority. AEC -- Application Encouragement Challenge: What mountains are you in need of moving in your life? Have you turned your heart toward the Lord seeking His guidance? Do you know without a doubt that if you continue on trusting in His plan that you will not only endure to the end but be saved and conquer? This is a pep-talk that we all are in need of today and every day. Trust in the Lord for everything today and you will not only be saved, but you will conquer. P: Father in Heaven, we know that we need to trust in you more today. We know that if we endure through our affliction that you will bless our effort if it is according to your Will and your Plan. Lord, please give us greater faith so that we may continue on unwavering in our resolve to press on despite the obstacles we face knowing that your mighty arm is not shortened to save us. We need you Lord. Please bless us with stout hearts, strong minds and a servants mentality so that we can go forward feeling your courage rising within us to meet the challenges of this moment. May we never lose heart or faith in you Father for you are Great and deserving of all our praise. May your Will be done in our lives for ever and ever. In Jesus name. Amen.
