Good evening folks! I (Stacey) am in the midst of a 5 week beekeeping course offered through the Rutherford County Beekeepers Association and am thrilled to finally have the opportunity to learn more about these important creatures which have always seemed so mysterious to me. This year my Dad will be turning over one of his hives to me to manage and we are also planning to acquire another hive or two for the homestead! The more I learn, the heavier my heart gets as I am reminded of the dire situation we are faced with as the Earth is shaped more and more into a disaster zone from a bees perspective (as well as from a humans perspective if we would just slow down and pay attention). It is up to each one of us to act for the bees and for ourselves, as our lives quite literally depend on the pollinators of this Earth.
