Good evening friends, as made known, we met today (2nd Jan 15) and this is a summary of what was discussed: Agenda: 1. Welcome and opening prayer 2. 2015 Blessed 2 Bless projects: 2. 1. Olesego Place of Safety 2. 2. Nelson Mandela Day School Shoes Project 2. 3. The Christmas Toys Run 3. Any Other Business (AOB) 4. Closing prayer and departure 1. Welcome by D. Ntsepe and opening prayer was done by Karabo Motsukunyane. 2. 1. Olesego Place of Safety - It has come to our knowledge that Olesego receives state grant wherein 1 of the conditions is that educational and physical needs of the children are prioritized by the caregiver. Therefore, we may assist the centre in other areas of need other than the stated 1s above. - Based on the deliberations made today and prior to the meeting, the attendees suggested that regular visits be maintained between Olesego and us. We have therefore agreed that well visit at the end of each quarter of the year (March, June, September and December). - During the mid-year visits, well play with the kids, donate educational material or whatever deemed necessary. - The June visit will be intertwined in the Nelson Mandela day project. The Christmas project will also be linked to December visit. - At the end of January, Letshego will make available a list of all the priorities that we can focus on, this will then also be part of the Nelson Mandela Day project. 2. 2. Nelson Mandela Day Shoes Campaign - A minimum of 67 pairs of school shoes will be collected until June 18, 2015. - At the end of each month, the shoes collected will be counted to measure the % remaining to complete the set minimum. - At the end of March well announce the name of the school(s) which will be a beneficiary of the shoes project. The letter of notification (intent) will be sent at the same time to the Schools Headmaster. - The focus of the project is on younger people in primary schooling (Gr R to Gr 7). However, upon receipt of correspondence from the school, the exact shoe sizes will be circulated. - All shoe sizes will be accepted between now and end of March, where well announce the most preferred shoes size supported by a list of the school kids. 2. 3. The Christmas Toys Run - Based on the success of the past 3 years, wed like to make 2015 a bigger and better planned project. This includes the activities (braai, chill session at the park) after the Toys Run. - Well be drafting a template Plan of Action for the Christmas day. This will eliminate dependence or expectation from 1 person but encourage participation from all the B2B members. - More creativity was encouraged, also all people should feel welcome and part of the B2B Crew. E.g. Christmas costumes. - It was suggested that novelties be given also to the nurses during the toys project. 3. Any Other Business: - We need to design and agree on an emblem (or logo) that the stakeholders can easily identify us with. This will then be used on any preferred item of clothing i.e. T-shirt, overall, cap or sweater. - All B2B projects are not limited to the known members, any family member or friend or colleague or neighbour is allowed to donate and be part of this group (if necessary). - All social network platforms are meant for our convenience and should not be abused. Whenever theres an issue that requires everyone to participate, kindly indicate accordingly so that everyone can avail themselves for discussion slots (19H00 - 21H00). 4.
