Good evening from Jim and Diane at Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga . Jim had a rough day and night a few days ago but has been better since. It does seem like we go forward in a circular path of good and not so good days. Jim has worked hard with the therapies but is most excited about speech therapy letting him eat peanut butter crackers and diet coke today. And drum roll please-/- she scheduled a Barum swallow study tomorrow at 10:30am . Please pray that he will pass this test. It will mean so much to be able to eat and drink unlimited by tubes, etc. he is still off the vent during the day and going back on at night . They continue to lower the oxygen at night weaning him slowly from the vent. Thank you everyone for your prayers as we travel slowly on this healing journey. It has been 10 weeks today since the accident and it seems like yesterday in one aspect and then a lifetime in another. We appreciate all of you who have breathed a prayer with our names in it. We are depending on The Lord to carry us through to the end. My wonderful sister and daughter finished packing up the apartment and I now have 2 spoons and a stack of paper plates to use until we can get the new apartment next month. I can relax and just take care of Jim on my days off. I will post tomorrow to let everyone know how the swallow study went. Thank you to all for praying for us.
