Good evening its Mark. Some of you may notice Ive removed the video I took on Sunday at Anstey in Leicestershire. Why? Because this evening I had a phone call from the owners, we ended up meeting & had a long, open & frank discussion about the situation. Firstly the grey pony I featured which for all the world looks to be very sick has good reason to look that way. Not only does it have a long term defect in its hind anatomy which is believed to effect its digestion & processes of defection, it was brutally attacked by humans a couple of years back. Its current owner has taken pity on it & stepped in to prevent it from going for meat. It seems to have an annual pasture intolerance which contributes to it scouring but would also stress if taken from its herd. I am always very keen to see a positive come out of a situation & to this end I am hoping to be able to twist a few arms into giving up some time to form a work party to clear the dangerous wire for starters & have a brainstorm as to what we can do to help improve the rest of the area. The best thing that could happen is that alternative grazing is found within the locality & this the owners are trying to do. If anyone is feeling generous enough to be able to offer some time to help it would be very much appreciated! Mark.
