Good evening to our Dragoon friends and family, we hope you all - TopicsExpress

Good evening to our Dragoon friends and family, we hope you all enjoyed a safe holiday weekend back home. Your loved ones kept very busy over the last few days knocking out a series of important tasks. On Saturday Alpha Company was cleaning equipment and getting ready for inspections while Bravo Company worked on rifle marksmanship and Delta did Combatives. On Sunday the companies reset and allowed everyone the opportunity to attend religious services, while some got haircuts and purchased hygiene items. Yesterday Bravo and Delta had observances for Martin Luther King’s birthday and Alpha conducted their formal inspections in the barracks. Needless to say, everyone has been staying busy. And now for the update: Alpha Company (Graduation Week): Alpha Rock went down to Baker Theater and conducted their first round of graduation rehearsals. The Drill Sergeants report that they are looking good and they should be ready for the big day on Thursday. In the afternoon they headed down to the Central Issue Facility and turned in all of their field equipment. They did exceptionally well and got a 100% successful turn-in on their first attempt, which is a fete rarely accomplished. Right now they are getting prepared for a sensing session with the Brigade Commander and squaring things away for Family Day tomorrow. Bravo Company (Week 7): The Bulldogs have spent the day at Range 20 conducting Rifle Marksmanship Period 9, which is the practice qualification. This is a day at the range firing at targets in precisely the same manner they will be expected to perform tomorrow on Qualification Day. I visited with them this morning and I am happy to report that the entire company is doing exceptionally well and everyone anticipates a successful day tomorrow. This is a critically important event and we are all very encouraged by what we’ve been seeing today. Delta Company (Week 7): Dawg Company was out at Range 8 today conducting Rifle Marksmanship Period 8 where they all engaged single and multiple timed targets at variable distances with their personal weapon. This is the one last step required of them all before conducting the practice qualification tomorrow. Just like Bravo Company, we’ve been very encouraged by what we’ve seen thus far and we are very optimistic about their Qualification Day on Thursday. It’s a big week for the Soldiers of Alpha Company and their loved ones who are travelling here to see them walk across the stage. For those of you still on the way to Fort Leonard Wood, please be safe. For those of you already here, welcome to our community and please enjoy your brief stay while you are here! Everyone have a wonderful evening. Lieutenant Colonel Gries Dragoon 6
