>>Good evening weather watchers, storms have been rumbling most of the afternoon especially on the southern Tableland & Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders district with big totals being reported throughout areas south from Atherton. Tomorrow will be fairly active with widespread showers and thunderstorms throughout our coverage area, including coastal areas south from Cooktown (including areas from Cardwell south that have missed our so far) and isolated to the north. If you are lucky enough to be right under a storm you could easily pick up falls greater than 50mm. There is also the possibility some storms could become severe especially in southern areas, so lets hope everyone gets a good drop but without any destructive wind & hail. >> The current weather pattern has deepening trough from southwestern Queensland eastwards along the Qld/NSW border to a low developing off the central NSW coast; this feature should move generally northwards in the next day or two. A humid and unstable airmass lies over much of the state near and north of the trough. A relatively strong upper trough will approach southwestern Queensland tonight and is expected to move slowly eastwards across the southern interior of the state on Friday and Saturday, before moving into the Coral Sea during Sunday. >>North Tropical Coast and Tablelands - Friday 12 December Partly cloudy.
