Good ✅🆙 in Birmingham today‼️ Chases doctor appointments started about 10:30 this morning.......and finished up about 5:00 this afternoon! Whew! It was a long day, but a lot was accomplished and Chase received good reports on his progress! X-Rays were taken, feeding tube was removed, stitches in legs & ankles were removed from previous surgeries and Chases legs & ankles are no longer in casts! He is now in leg splints. (This will make shower time easier!) Orthopedic doctor said Chases fractured bones were healing on schedule and when Chase returns to see him, they will start him applying some weight on legs/ankles. Maybe try to walk with the aid of a walker! Now thats some good news!!! 👍 However, Chase does have some skin tissue breakdown on his heels and the beginning stages of pressure sores are trying to develop. Hopefully with the absence of the casts, this little problem can be resolved in a short time. Chase is returning in February to see the Neurologist and hopefully get some good reports from him too. In March hell return to see Orthopedic doctor and PM&R (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation) doctor and a Plastic Surgeon to evaluate some of his facial injuries. Today was a productive day! Our prayers continue to be answered and Chases recovery is coming along.....one day at a time. Please continue to keep Chase and our family in your prayers. This has been extremely difficult for all of us. Chase is recovering from a life threatening and a life changing experience. He is very vulnerable and needs positive influences around him. His focus on his rehabilitation goals will help him succeed with his recovery. 🙏 No more casts.....only leg splints! 😄
