Good luck with that!! (see story attached) My photography style is Im a presenter -- I present you in your best possible light. Its presentational. All of my Hunny Bunnies are exactly as beautiful as you see them in photos so meeting them in person is not a disappointment. But many photographers are transformers -- transformational. They take and use Photoshop tools to reshape and transform people. Meeting that type of model who looks very little like her professional photos can be pretty disappointing and I hear conversations like So thats really her? Thats very common in the mainstream advertising world -- creating unrealistic expectations and body images. But its also fairly prevalent in the pin-up community. Google What is the liquify tool in Photoshop. I use Photoshop to retouch lightly cosmetic things like hair/make-up and remove distractions from the background. The only time I use transforming photo tools is when weve done an otherwise awesome photo but due to the pose or angle and realities of the human body, weve made an arm or leg look big by resting weight on it or were looking thick due to the pose or something is spilling out in an unflattering way. I fix things and make sure were all proportional, but I dont make it a regular habit of doing Photoshop cosmetic surgery. I also retouch skin and in particular if someone has heavy acne, Ill fix it because eventually that will go away and its a big boost for the self-esteem to see oneself in the best possible way. I review photos of Marilyn Monroe and Bettie Page and iconic pinups and I think if they were happy with the photos and looked proportional for a realistic feminine figure from the 1940s and 1950s, then were doing it right and thats my standard.
