Good mechanic and fabricator wanted at Chase Race. We work on a wide variety of cars here, mostly race cars of some sort, but also interesting street cars. They range, literally, from race prepped Nissan GTRs to beater Miatas. We do lots of suspension work, alignments, tire mounting and setup, but also engine and transmission R&R, clutch, diff, etc. On the fabrication side we build roll cages, custom exhausts, and all the other little random fabrication projects that you run across when building race cars. Spring is our busy time because everybody is getting ready for race season. You should be flexible on schedule. Some weeks were flooded, some we dont have much. Normal would be in the 20-30 range. Skills required: People skills: Look, talk, and act like an intelligent human being. If you show up here in grubby clothes with a wad of chew in your mouth and your pants falling off you can turn around and walk right back out. Be friendly and respectful to customers and their cars. This does not mean brown nose and bullshit. Realize that their car, although it may not be exciting to you, is special and important to them. Mechanical skills: Brakes, shocks, engine, transmission, clutch. Some electrical diagnosis. Mount and balance tires. Very precise 4-wheel alignments. Im not talking about just watching the screen and getting all the numbers in the green, Im talking about aligning each corner to the exact tenth of a degree. Fabrication skills: Know how to properly use chop saw, vertical band saw, grinders, sanders, tubing bender, tubing notcher. MIG welding, TIG welding, mild steel, stainless, aluminum. You can check us out on the web at chaserace or on facebook at facebook/ChaseRaceLLC. The website is a pretty outdated and doesnt even have any photos from the current shop. The facebook stuff is slightly better. Please email your resume detailing your skills and experience, along with pay requirements. Pay will be dependent upon experience. Feel free to include photos of fabrication projects youve done. Please dont call or stop by without emailing first, its too busy around here right now.
