Good morning. A day of sunny spells and scattered blustery - TopicsExpress

Good morning. A day of sunny spells and scattered blustery showers. The showers will be most frequent in the West with some Eastern counties of England remaining mostly dry through the day. The showers elsewhere though wintry at times, mostly over the hills but occasionally to lower levels in the North and they could merge at times to give some longer spells of rain giving the risk of some flooding, along with the risk of some coastal flooding with high tides. The wind strength really increasing through the day too, especially in the West where we could see gusts up to 70mph and perhaps as high as 80mph on exposed Western coasts and hills. In to this coming week there is the potential for some really severe weather once again with some exceptionally strong winds and over 100mm of rain in some Western areas as Atlantic low pressure systems start to ramp up once again. Obviously this brings the risk of disruption and we will keep you up to date throughout the week.
