Good morning Albert Head CSTC fans! Grad parade today! Yippee! :-) Another highlight of today is that approx 130 cadets with the Drill and Ceremonial Instructor and Basic Drill and Ceremonial courses will be at Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Site today to replace sandbags at the Fort entrance as well as remove invasive plants. The contribution to Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse Historic Site - coincidently in time for Canada’s Parks Day on Sat., July 20 - satisfies program requirements for their community service project. This is a pretty big deal – although it sounds like primarily large scale weeding project, the cadets will be working to remove the weeds that threaten the Garry oak ecosystem. We have invited the media (Parks Canada`s media advisory had a cool headline, “Parks Canada and Canadian Air Cadets Wage a War in the Woods against Invasive Species”), and will share coverage!
