Good morning Beloit. It is currently 32 degrees outside. With the rain that is falling we are seeing some slippery spots that are concerning. The plows are out with salt to try to keep the roads passable. Please give yourself a few extra minutes to get your windshield cleared off so you dont need to drive with a periscope out and please adjust your speed accordingly. We are all very impressed when you can drive with a 2 inch diameter hole in your frosted window that is clear, but we would rather (in fact we insist) that you have a clear windshield before you hit the road. In somewhat local, and world news we were sorry to hear of the death of Luke Somers who was held captive in Yemen. Luke had been a Beloit College student, and was part of our community during his time here. We offer our condolences to his family on their loss. I am sure that the amazing folks in the Special Forces community wished for a better outcome, and we know they did there absolute best to try to rescue Luke and another man. We wish that terrorism didnt exist, but as long as it does there will be good men and women willing to fight the good fight here and abroad. I have received a few good ideas for a couple of features that I will try to start incorporating in my posts in the next few weeks. If any of you have some input, Im happy to hear them.
