Good morning, #Bermuda: today is #Thursday, December 25 – Christmas Day, the Christian holy day marked around the world with special regional events. In Bermuda, Gombeys and the serving of the traditional cassava pie remain firmly entrenched as Christmas traditions. The Island’s Portuguese community also carried their own Christmas festivities, with a midnight mass after opening gifts on Christmas Eve. Also depicted here is a new tradition: Christmas Day swimming and champagne on Elbow Beach, now popular with locals as well as workers from overseas.
