How do you define integrity? The dictionary says integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. Who in your life has strong moral principles? We will be talking more in advisory about how to have integrity in your life. A huge congratulation to Mr. O’Donnell and the 8th grade boys basketball team for winning last weekend’s basketball tournament! You are the best at dribbling and shooting for 2 and taking that ball to the hoop hoop! Also congratulations to the winners of the Science Fair: in 7th grade we have Nicolas Vo, Adam Chan, Ryan Pierce, Emily Ikeoka, Gabby Patino, and Jay Butter Field. In 8th grade we have; Brandon Hardwick, Matthew Rodriquez, Ryan Phillips, Aerielle Ulip, Bryce Arana, Taylor Hussain, and Brayden Sample. All winners will be advancing to the district science fair at Edna Hill on Tuesday, March 2nd. The Bristow spelling bee was a success!! Do you have what it takes?! Reading Contest! – Who can read the most books, earn the most AR points and successfully pass the AR tests within one month? WHEN: January 13th –February 13th HOW: READ as many AR books and take the AR tests on the computer! You must pass the AR tests. You will need to let your language arts teacher know each time you take a test. WHO WILL WIN: The top 7 readers from each grade level will be chosen for an awesome challenge! This will be based off the highest amount of AR points earned within the reading period. 3 additional winners will be randomly chosen in a raffle drawing from each grade level. The more you read and tests you pass, the better chance you will have! WHAT YOU WIN: The opportunity of a life-time, the chance to play floor hockey VS. THE STOCKTON THUNDER HOCKEY TEAM Tickets will be sold for the Stockton Thunder event. All proceeds from ticket sales will fund the Bristow AR Reading Program. So purchase a ticket and support your school, plus meet all the Thunder players in person!!! Students! Do you want to have a dedication ad placed for you in the yearbook? If so, look for the order form that went home in advisory on Monday, January 12th. All orders are due by March 6th and space is limited, so don’t wait until the last minute to buy.
