Good morning, Capac Marching Chiefs Families! Camp is rapidly approaching! Just a reminder that the week is August 12-16 from 8:00am-4:00pm. Your son/daughter needs to be there at least 15 mins early. Do not be late! Often times the drum majors and some upper classmen play ice breaker games starting at 7:30. It’s a lot of fun so join in! There are some items that you will need for the week: 1. Sunscreen! This is #1 in my book. Please take this seriously! 2. Water 3. Instrument 4. Music 5. Lyre and flip folder 6. Pencil and optional highlighters 7. Tennis shoes. ABSOLUTELY NO FLIP-FLOPS OR SANDALS ARE ALLOWED! 8. Sun glasses 9. Good work ethic 10. Patience FRESHMEN: All but 1 of you still need to purchase a lyre and flip folder. You may get those from me the first day at a cost of anywhere from $10-$20 depending on what instrument you play. You may also purchase them ahead of time at any music store. I do not require anything special, but you definitely need these 2 items for the rest of your high school career. Boosters will be making lunches for the students. This is very expensive and we ask that to help defray the cost, every student please bring in $10 to cover meals for the week. You may bring that to me the first day of camp. Thank you in advance. We need parent volunteers for various jobs and items throughout the week. If you are able to help, please contact me, Mrs. Hayes, or Mrs. Grewe. The jobs are: 1. Uniform fittings 2. Preparing/serving lunches 3. Donations of water I am very excited about this season! We have great music, great instructors, and best of all, great kids. Band camp is no small task so please take some to find a way to make it easier, whether it be donating time/water, getting your son/daughter to camp on time, encouraging them to practice and keep going, and making sure they stay healthy and strong by having water and wearing sunscreen.
