Good morning Caribbean enthusiasts! I have been home sick all - TopicsExpress

Good morning Caribbean enthusiasts! I have been home sick all week. Bad. But it has given me time to do more research on the British Virgin Islands. Good. Here are a few quick notes about the Virgin Islands. Just east of Puerto Rico are the Spanish Virgin iIlands. Just east, are the USVI - St. Thomas, St Johns, St Croix and some smaller islands. East of St Johns are the British Virgin Islands - about 60 islands or cays. At 10 square miles, Tortola is the biggest and most populated island. Road Town is the Capital of the BVI and a main port for cruise ships. When we were down there, we didnt spend much time on land. But if guests are interested, we can hike Mt Sage and visit the Botanical gardens on Tortola. There is nothing like doing some exploring then returning to the cozy boat for a nice sun shower, happy hour and a delicious meal under the setting sun. Ahhhh... Anyway, back to Tortola. There are many anchorages and Cays around the island. We could find a different anchorage ever night just on Tortola, but there is so much more to see. Maybe spend the next day at Marina Cay, a beautiful small island and the location where I took the main picture on this facebook page. There is time for snorkeling, swimming, playing on the beach and sailing, everyday. We will know the hot spots but we will be on island time and you choose how to pace the day. No agenda. No schedule unless we hit a more touristy spot and we need to make sure to get a mooring ball before they are all taken. We cannot wait to share this experience with as many of our friends, as possible. It is just so beautiful and I remember feeling so good and so fortunate to be there. You know how in life, there are moments that stand out? Well, if you love being on the water and being in nature, sailing in the BVI will give you these moments. Have a great weekend. I am now absorbed in House of Thrones. gotta watch all of the hot series before we leave and NO TV. And then that will be ok too. :-) roger and Linda
