Good morning, Cleveland!! Today is the day that we have all been waiting for! Your championship odds favorite Cleveland Cavaliers begin their 82-game campaign to the playoffs tonight at 8! In honor of the fact that our fair city will most likely be hoisting the Larry OBrien trophy in June of 2015, lets take a look back at what the world was like the last time ANY major professional sports team in Cleveland won a title: 12/27/1964. The Cleveland Browns defeated the Baltimore Colts 27-0 before the phrase Super Bowl ever left the mouths of football fans anywhere. What else was happening during that time period? Lyndon Johnson was President. The Beatles had just begun their invasion of American pop culture. Jeopardy! was in its first televised season. From Russia With Love was released that year. The Civil Rights Act was signed into law. The final Looney Toon is released. The beloved animated Christmas movie Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is released. Everybody was 50 years younger. I remember when I was -30! Good year. Hands down the best birthday party I ever had. Well damn. How about we update that list as soon as possible, Cleveland fans? And why the hell shouldnt we?! Weve got arguably the best player of all time, as well as one of the best point guards in the league and (ohbytheway) Kevin Love. Collectively we may not have much defensively, but when a team that could *possibly* materialize into the best offense the NBA has ever seen is smackin you upside the face theres really nothing you can do. All For One, One For All. Lets go get em, guys. This city has been waiting far too long.
