Good morning Cousins…. It is 40 degrees at police headquarters. We will be near 53 degrees today with sunshine. We do have a winter storm watch issued for the northern Ohio counties. We could see 2-6 inches of snow starting tomorrow. Mother Nature needs a mood stabilizer. We have no delays, incidents or tales of the cells to report at this time. The Crazy Cousins Reunion and Veterans Welcome Home Parade is September 20th, 2014. Mark your calendars, put in the time-off request and be here. Last year, we believe our longest cousin trip was made from Washington State. Yes, it is worth it. Today is NOT my birthday. If today is your birthday, we wish you a great day. We also hope you get the entire series set of “Police Woman” on DVD. Angie Dickinson. Hubba Hubba. I am not in North Carolina, nor am I at the United States Military Academy at West Point. I will be though, at the end of April. I have the honor of being an invited guest lecturer for the heroes there. Good morning to Cousin Doctor Linda and all of the cadets and staff at West Point. Carry on! On this date in 1953, an American B-47 accidentally dropped a nuclear bomb from 15,000 feet. It landed on Mars Bluff, South Carolina. Double yikes! The bomb created a crater 75 feet across. The nuclear core did not detonate, because of the safety mechanisms in place. That situation would have required an immediate purchase of new shorts. Mercy. Happy Birthday to Shemp Howard. He has departed us. He was one of the Three Stooges. There were lots of stooges. Moe, Shemp and Curly were all brothers. I am partial to Curly, myself. I have trouble watching any of the Three Stooge offerings if Curly is not there. It is like Two Stooges and some other guy. Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk. Curly was hysterical and quite the ladies man. Happy Birthday to Terrence Howard. He is no relation to Moe, Curly or Shemp. He is an actor and was in the movies Crash and Iron Man, amongst others. I enjoy superhero movies. I like most superheroes; however, Batman is my favorite. We have quite similar lives. We have a utility belt, a cool car and I am quite the dancer. I draw the line at smooching all of the ladies. Mrs. Chief would make me relinquish the utility belt if I did that. I also have a youthful side-kick, named Captain Adkins. Lots of coincidences there…. Happy Birthday to Bobby McFerrin. He is 64 years old today. He is a singer. The song stuck in your head today….Don’t Worry, Be Happy. “In every life we have some trouble. When you worry you make it double.
