Good morning Facebook Family. The scripture on my heart this morning is: Psalms 66:4 All the earth worships You and sings praises to You; they sing praises to Your name.” Selah. This is Worship Wednesday and I love it. To be able to share with each one of you in Worshiping our Lord just absolutely makes my day start out right. Amen! This verse talks about worshiping in the here and now, when the time it was written, to us it is now, but to them it is, the way back when. (Yes, Christie I am wide awake. LOL) This verse is not meant to be prophetic either but it is. This verse was for the then, is for the now, and will be for the future. Psalms 150:6 says, Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! This includes our furbabies, the birds of the air, (Who in Ecc 10:20 tells us that anything we do that isnt good is told by the birds), to the wind through the trees, fish in the ocean, and especially us that were made to praise and worship our Lord. Psalms 102:18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD. Isaiah 43:7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. Ephesians 1:11-12 11- In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12- in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. Those of us that call God our Father, that have accepted His Son as our Savior have also taken upon ourselves to worship and praise Him for ALL and EVERYTHING he has given and taken away. Yes, He has given salvation, an eternal hope, the knowledge we can put our faith and trust in Him, the air we breath, our income, our groceries, the roof over our heads, our children, or no children, he has given it all. He has taken away, our sinful life, our eternity in hell, our loved ones, our homes, and the list goes on. Whether it be given or taken away, whether it be a joy or painful, we are to praise the Lord. This is the sacrifice of praise when we are asked to praise him in our pain, our trials, our valleys. Hebrews 13:15 says, Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise--the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. Jeremiah 33:11 The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the Lord of hosts: for the Lord is good; for his mercy endures for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. I Peter 2:5 You also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.. Okay we know what the sacrifice of praise is, so what is spiritual sacrifices? A spiritual sacrifice is an act of giving up and offering to God our time and effort in a way that is pleasing to Him, it must be offered in an attitude of obedience, humility, and reverence. Praising God is also a spiritual sacrifice if we follow Hebrews 13:15 (given above). David praised God seven times each day (Psalm 119:164). The principle here is that we should be praising God continually or be prepared to do, so at any time, not a specific number of times a day. Again our praise and worship it must be offered in an attitude of obedience, humility, and reverence. Praise and worship can be offered in several different forms: singing, playing musical instruments, dancing, speaking, or praying (Psalm 146-150). God enjoys them all, provided they are based upon spiritual truths and principles that are presented in humility. As a spiritual sacrifice, praise is a specific duty that we as a royal priesthood in training are required to perform. You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light (I Peter 2:9). Praises is the Greek word aretai which means virtue and excellencies. When we praise God, we proclaim His virtues, showing the excellencies of all that He does. Offering up the spiritual sacrifice of praise to God is not something to be taken lightly, but done from the heart in humility, joy, and reverence. We do not know when and where someone else is reading this as we read this devotion. Most that read it doesnt hit like or make a comment. There may be several reading as you are...... So let us Praise the Lord together here and now. Amen! Now let us Praise and Worship our Lord together!
