Good morning Fbf. We live in a world where hearts are hardened by the disappointment of personal pursuits. Consciences are contaminated by the rise of situational ethics and the fall of absolute truth, and passions are defiled by the self-serving, self-gratifying bent of popular culture. We live in a world where he who cheats scores. We live in a world where he who loves loses, she who shares suffers, and he who helps hurts. We live in a cold world. But the people of God, Gods elect, Gods chosen ones are called out of the world to model in the world a different behavior for the world. We the people of God, are called to love our enemies, bless those who curse us, do good to those who Hate us, and pray for those who despitefully use and persecute us. The people of God are instructed to be wise as serpents but harmless as doves. But what happens when the people of God look more like the world than like the church? What happens when the people of God forsake you when they ought to forgive you, or persecute you instead of pray for you? Im concerned that we live among individuals who would rather hold you up as a target instead of protect you from the darts. And you know the darts will come; for anytime you attempt great feats, especially for the cause of Christ, the enemy desires to frustrate and negate your efforts. Some of you have grown so frustrated with trying to be the best you can be because every time you climb up, you get kicked back down. For someone else, every time you take two steps forward, you get knocked three steps back. But there is good news today. If you are faithful to your call and steadfast in your resolve, God provides a testimony and a reward that makes the journey well worth the effort. Stay faithful, be encourage and Carpe diem!
