Good morning Fitnatics! Life is amazing! I have been meditating, praying and eating lighter in preparation for the collective event on Saturday at 10:11 (Im in at 10). Two days ago the flood gates opened. I dont have cable, so I rarely watch television. I select my movies and tv shows from Netflix. I have a satellite antenna to get local channels but NEVER watch news. I dont even listen to radio unless there is actual music playing. I have been able to essentially shelter myself from disturbing events going on in the world. That worked fine until two days ago. Suddenly I found myself listening to a radio show about all of the civil unrest in America. I overheard conversations about it. I saw news updates flash across my iPhone. My heart ached so badly that I actually broke down in tears at a gas station. Im talking about the ugly crying yall. For the rest of the day I cried. The next day (yesterday), I got mad. I could not believe that all of this had been going on and I had no idea. How can we carry on with our holiday festivities like nothing was happening? Then, I learned a profound lesson. When you ask for peace, you must experience violence so that you can choose peace. You see, it is easy for me to believe in the best in humanity when that is all that surrounds me. When I have a group of loving friends and family supporting me, I dont have to challenge my beliefs. Only when I see the evils of the world and still choose to react peacefully am I really a proponent for peace. Its when I experience fear and hate but choose to react with love that I can really profess to be a loving person. While I am saddened by the hate and violence that we are experiencing, I am grateful that these tumultuous times are providing a mirror to reflect back to us our beliefs about ourselves. Are we a society that values human lives, or are we a culture of death and destruction? I still choose to believe in the good in humanity. I did not like what I saw in the mirror, so I decided to change the source. I will not react to hate by spreading more hate. I choose to show the pain that hate causes and react to that hate with love. I choose to be who I have always professed to be- a bringer of light and love. Like J. Axelrod I believe that as long as there is life, there is hope. As long as there is hope, there is life. I am so grateful for the lesson. So remember today that your work is never done. When you ask for one thing, a myriad of the opposite will show up. Dont be discouraged. It is just the universe allowing you to choose to be the change you seek in the world. Thank you for reading this extra long post. Please share my video. It is my loving response to the divisiveness in our world. Have a wonderful Wednesday! youtu.be/um_9l1Eeo1o
