Good morning Friends! Many of you are aware that I co-authored a book with my husband Chris, called Resurrection Monday. It is our account of how I learned of having MS (Multiple Sclerosis), battled the disease and debilitating depression until finally I took my life. But God had other plans for me and the following day (the Monday after Easter Sunday) He brought me back to the land of the living. In the book, I mention that I will be releasing a companion edition, Resurrection Monday, A Devotional. I would like to share the first chapter with you and get your feedback. Do you like the format? Is this something that would be helpful or useful to you or someone you know? Etc. Thanks in advance for taking the time to do this. I value you. I value you your thoughts. Have nothing short of an extremely blessed day! -nc ANXIETY Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 When tragedy strikes our first response is often to despair and give in to fear and anxiety. That is exactly where I went in my head when I learned the news of having Multiple Sclerosis. However, neither of these emotions were productive nor helpful. They also stood in contrast to what scripture says we are to do when these emotions creep up on us. Scripture tells us in Philippians to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to God…Why would God counsel us to not be anxious? Or to be thankful in all things: It almost seems unreasonable. It would seem there are plenty of events in life where we have good cause to do just the opposite. However, He knew there was something better for us waiting - if only we would reach out to Him and make our requests known to Him, with a heart of thanksgiving – a higher purpose. We would receive something extraordinary: a peace that surpasses understanding and a heart and mind that will be protected by the Lord Himself. He knows that a grateful heart is a seedbed for a heart ready to receive from Him. Prayer Lord, please enable me to go straight to You in all instances; whether it be tragedy or triumph, I want to take it all to You and lay it all before you. I want to trust what you have in store for me at all times and in all circumstances. ”Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow. It empties today of its strength.” Corrie Ten Boom To obtain a copy of Resurrection Monday, click: nancyconant/books/resurrection-monday/ The special offer mentioned in the photo is a free mini-poster of THE STALLION painting with the purchase of our book.
