Good morning & Happy Friday! The day started a bit rocky but so happy a life hasnt been taken! 6:00AM 9/12/14 South of Broadway on 29th Street West side of street just beyond the alley. While walking my dog Thizz I turned a corner to retrieve my house keys from my girlfriends car when I heard a yelping noise. Immediately I started running back to where I saw her sniffing around... as I approached a cat ran under a car so the first thought was maybe she had gotten into a small brawl but my dog was not in the yard where she had been seen last. Instead the yelping was moving as I saw a coyote running up 29th into the middle of the street. I put my feet to work with a dead sprint gaining on the animal as it made it half way to Broadway it then dropped my pup... she was dripping blood from her neck and ear. She sustained puncture wounds around her neck and ear.... After all she has been through I know her strength will carry her, but all I can hope is that she doesnt contract any disease or infection from the beast. The coyote ran across Broadway as I watched it and attempted to approach again, but it would retreat on my movement. Waited about 15minutes next to my dog until the coyote made its final departure then proceeded to clean and watch after my dog before finally leaving for work 3 hours late.
