Good morning! I believe theres been lots of praying for sweet Piper. The dr just came in and her diagnosis has changed from Steven Johnson syndrome to a more severe case of coxsackie (hand, foot, mouth) and strep. Her strep test came back positive this morning and pretty much changed everything. The coxsackie virus has been somewhat confusing too because of the rash itself and the areas its spread. They will now be treating her for both and monitoring fever and antibiotics for strep. We strongly feel like she had a reaction to bactrim and her behavior was clear she did. Dr. Doesnt seem to be ruling out a reaction but Her rash does seem better today and no new spots, which is also an indication its not SJS. SJS gets worse before it gets better. And can be very serious. Her fever has regulated and They plan to monitor her today and will be running more blood test. The dr will examine her again this afternoon. She is resting well this morning. Thank you for your prayers. Now we need prayers for Scout too that he doesnt get either of them!
