Good morning! I just want to say a few thank yous on here and I will post over on the Stockton Pirate Day 2014 page too but first my personal thanks! When we decided to hold Pirate Day in Stockton we thought it might have been a bit of a stretch - whitby has always been fab as its a sea port but pirates on the river tees? Anyway the setting of the HM Bark Endeavour was a perfect location to hold the event and we thought it would be something pretty special just because of that, over the months of planning the event grew beyond our expectations and we suddenly started to get interest and offers of support from so many places it was amazing! All of the independent traders in Stockton got on board and supported what we were trying to do. We had fantastic support from Stockton Council, and Rediscover Stockton. Cafe Infinity gave us the perfect setting and venue to hold our event and also were invaluable with the planning and execution of the day. For something on this scale I couldnt have done it myself so again I want to thank Anthony Michael Dorgan, Simon Rylander and Martyn Littlefair for taking on the MC jobs and the manning of the stocks! Our sound guys Frank Todd, Alex Hall and John Taylor for soing such a fantastic job and keeping everything running on time! Captain Jacks Pirate Parties! Jack and Will absolutely made the day! Our crafters, Dog House Designs, Butterflies & Rainbows, Flossies Kitchen, Uke n Craft, Alta Ego, White Fairy, Marsha Jewellery, Suzycraft and The Party Cavern (hope I havent missed anyone!) were fabulous a great selection of goodies to look at and buy! And now on to the music! It was probably the biggest (in amount of players) I have ever taken on and everyone came at the right times, were happy to shuffle around as the day dictated and played magnificently! So huge thanks to the following! Andrew Davies, Chris Howe, Aroha2aloha friendship page,Colleens Fancy Kevin Young, Ian Swinburne, Holly Dolly Shahverdi, Andy Brewster, Steve McCormick, Anna Leigh Stainton music, Skyran, Jamie Sample, Andy Gregory, Stormcrow, Jim Hayden Music, Dan Gannon, Phil Cox, Dave Brittle, Tom Powell, Dogwatch, Jim Blenkhorn, Andi Grainger, Bradley Earl Acoustic, Josh Westwood, Gilded Thieves Music, The Alice Charmers, 3 at Sea, Driven Serious, The Rivets, Audiofyre, The Jailhouse Jets, Red16, The Running Colours, Street Party in Soho, The Lamplight Poet and John and The Ragmen, Richard Peutrill, Latoya B, Jake Taylor, The Angry Amigos, Shotgun Charlie - I dont think I have missed anyone and sorry it wouldnt tag some of you! ANd special thanks to the ones who did 2 sets in 2 different locations! Finally (for now because I could go on all day!) Sound It Out Records, The Musiclounge Stockton and The Labyrinth who all hosted live music through the day and took part in our Treasure hunt. All in all the day was a tremendous success and we are over the moon with how everything went! Thanks again for all your support - and bring on next year! (Whitby Pirate Whitby Pirate-Festival next!)
