Good morning. In the chair behind Mr Furey keeping him going. See below for details. Nothing earth shattering. Warmer than normal temps for 2 weeks, then we see if we change the pattern late Ocotober or November. Enjoy your day...Warm regards to all.. Sam Another late August– like day with a mostly sunny sky, temperatures approaching 80 degrees this afternoon! A shower possible late tomorrow & tomorrow night. Lots of clouds but mostly dry this weekend Soaking rains possible late Monday into Tuesday. High pressure off the southeast coast will continue to transport mild air with highs approaching 80 degrees. A warm front will slowly move in our direction tomorrow into the weekend with lots of clouds and few light showers. Most of the shower activity will be scattered and light with the most numerous rainfall slated for central and northern New England. In fact, weak high pressure may develop off the New England Coast this weekend, allowing for some intervals of sunshine. Temperatures will average 5-10 degrees above normal throughout the weekend despite the clouds due to a warm pattern across the east coast. A cold front will slowly approach Connecticut Monday into Tuesday with a band of showers with the potential for a soaking rain, especially since some tropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico could enhance the rainfall. The last time we had a soaking a rain was on September 22nd. High pressure will build back into the northeast by the middle of next week with sunshine and mild temperatures as signs of a big pattern change. By the way, today is the 34th anniversary of the Great Windsor Locks Tornado that wiped out the Air Museum and nearby homes just south Bradley International Airport. Remarkable that occured in October than one week later, snow with 1.7" at Bradley Airport upwards of 6-9" western CT in 1979. Always going through these wild weather events.
