Good morning! It was a long night last night, but I am going to still try to keep myself productive today. We had an incredible rain and thunderstorm come in about bed time and I was so excited to lay down and watch the lightening show and listen to the rain pound down while I fell asleep, until......my big dog Jade decided that after 8 years she is going to now be afraid of thunder. She came to my bed in a panic attack and I tried to talk her through it(and laugh at her a bit) but she found that the only way she was going to survive the night was to crawl her 100+ lbs up and sleep ON me! It was not comfortable for me, I can tell you that, but if it comforted her, then I had to deal with it. Finally after about an hour her breathing calmed down and she settled off to sleep and then I was able to wedge myself out from under her and just spooned her to keep her safe. I love my sweet old girl, so a mama has to do what a mama has to do I guess. Then about 1 am the puppies in the crate started crying and barking and whining too. I tried to ignore that and sleep through it, but after an hour of that not working I gave up and went and let them out with their mama and told her to deal with them and quiet them down. Back to bed I went, but pretty much wide awake at that point. I think I finally fell back to sleep about the time the alarm started going off. Sleep is overrated right? I got the kiddo off to school and am now slamming coffee and getting ready to head out in the refreshingly cool rain to see if any of the animals got any sleep last night and want to come out and be fed. From the looks of things out the window, they seem to be quite content where they are for now, although I am sure they would not mind some breakfast at least. I am not sure what else is in the plans for the day, but I am hoping maybe this cool day will be a good soap making day for me. We shall see if time will allow it finally this week. I suppose if I want time to do what I want, I better get myself moving though. So I wish you all a great day today and I am going to take off running through the rain. :)
