Good morning! Its Monday and back in the Athlete zone Today we have Alysha Collett Local and well known jockey. Alysha is currently coming back from Injury , recovering from an acl reconstruction. Today we are working on general conditioning keeping her body functionally fit , in order to make the transition back to competitive racing as smooth as possible. First up we have suspended pull ups working the all important pulling and postural muscles! Forearms, Biceps, Posterior Deltoids and rhomboids, all working together as one unit, just like when she is riding, pulling and controlling her horse. Next up is tricep pushups, this time smashing the opposing muscle groups , triceps, Anterior Deltoids and the Pecs. All used throughout the race when pushing and encouraging the horse forward as the hands run up the back of the horses neck . And finally the famous Power Sled! Putting a controlled load on Alyshas Knee encouraging strength building and healing, while simultaneously conditioning The power house muscle, the Quadriceps!! All leading to greater capillarization, meaning the forming of new capillaries in response to stimulus in order to better supply muscles with oxygen and nutrients leading to a more powerful and enduring Athlete . Very nice technique Alysha , very strong and impressive Athleticism.
