Good morning! Its very cold outside to start the last day of 2014. Lubbock is coming in at 10°, with single digits up north. Wind chills are in the negative values at this point. Cover up all exposed skin and dress in layers today. We will see another shot at some freezing rain/snow & sleet after midnight tonight. So, when celebrating the new year, please use extreme caution if youre going out anywhere. It will be best to stay where you are tonight. Road conditions will deteriorate from midnight, through 6:00 am. We should dry out after that, but roads will remain slick all day tomorrow, as the high in Lubbock will only reach 32° on New Years Day. We will see another shot at some snow on Saturday morning. It should begin around midnight and last through 6:00 am. Whatever accumulations we will see will be gone quickly, as highs will reach the upper 40s Saturday afternoon. Please be careful on the roads and dont drive on the loop, or go anywhere unless you absolutely have to!
