Good morning !! Just an update on our newest ponies at the rescue. They are steadily eating and I got them out yesterday evening to stretch their legs for a few hours. They had a great time and met many of the other ponies here. It was so hot, 103 with the heat index, that I left them in most of the day under fans. Did you ever have one of those days where you just had to laugh at yourself? That was my day yesterday. In the course of watering the barn ponies is when it all started. I went in one stall and the pony there wanted out. He took his nose and gave the stall gate a powerful push. I have the goose egg on my forehead to show you where that gate connected. After that I was climbing over one of the gates to check water tanks. I split my jeans, but wont tell you where. Later one of the ponies was kicking at flies and I was a tad too close while grooming. I got the bruise for that one. The rest of the day was the same. The positive side of a challenging day.........I get a new pair of jeans, a better fly spray and have devised a way so that the stall gate cant open any farther than 5 unless I unlock it !! LOL Its all good !! I also wanted to show you new pictures of my barn help. Both Patches and Tabby have become great companions while I am at the barn. They ride with me on the golf cart when feeding up and wait for me while in the fields with the ponies. This last picture is Tabby visiting with our Ryder, a two year old gelding waiting to be adopted. Arent they just adorable? Stay cool and keep an eye on the weather for our local friends. Hurricane Arthur is heading north from South Carolina.
