Good morning MARKET BASKET family ! Anticipation. Today is that calm before the storm kind of day we have all come to know around here. People who laugh about our need for milk and bread and toilet paper obviously didnt live through the blizzard of 78. I was 13 and got a job babysitting for the whole two weeks. One week for the storm and then February school vacation. The neighborhood kids got together and made a ten foot snowman . I didnt have the issues my parents did. But I remember dad trudging to the closest store for what little supplies were to be had. My husband recalls wading through the snow to get diapers for his two month old daughter. Snow removel wasnt what it is today. And we are given much more warning now. My dad used to say all the time how the forecasters told them a series of flurries were coming. Flurries that turned into storms measured in feet. So we are cautious . My middle daughter was born in the middle of the blizzard of 96 and my oldest is paranoid she will go into labor . I will head out today to do the shopping I couldnt do yesterday because I had to loan my car out so the kids could get to work. But after seeing market basket on the news last night I am not sorry I had to wait. I will go early this morning before the crowds can take over. At least I hope it wont be too bad. And tomorrow we will all hunker down and ride it out. Weve got gas for the generator to last 24 hours. So we are prepared on that front. We are planning on making party subs so nothing will need to be cooked. Yup I think we will be ready. So remember be smart. Stay off the roads. Keep your loved ones close. Be mindful of your neighbors and as always take care of you. BIG BLIZZARD HUGS TO YOU ALL !
