Good morning Mythologist, we are still creating mythological - TopicsExpress

Good morning Mythologist, we are still creating mythological stories today. Many years ago, I watched a PBS program where Bill Moyers was interviewing Joseph Campbell, an American mythologist who explored the various religions, rituals and native cultures of our global societies. Joseph made a lasting impression on me. His works dealt with tales, stories and myth that were handed down by societies across the earth; issues dealing with life and death, challenges of the body and spirit, of birth, life, love, personal growth, sacred places and animals, just to name a few subjects that laid the foundation for human development. As I recall, Joseph died soon after the interview with Moyers. After watching the interview, I became interested in finding out more about Joseph. I purchase his a few of his books but found that I really miss having the recorded PBS video. In the year 2000, however, I entered this BlockBuster video store browsing around for something to watch, and laying there for sale was this DVD set for $5. “The Power of Myth” with Bill Moyers, the entire PBS show I had seen years earlier. Of course, I quickly bought and still have the video (the videos are hard to come by), which I watch at least once a year. It’s amazing how I remember the tales but like reading the Bible, always find new meanings in the stories. So for you guys out there, remember that this is your existence, so why not make a mythology out of it, maybe even something all can remember.
