Good morning, Persistent rain across eastern Scotland and the Northern Isles will continue throughout the day with some heavier bursts mixed in, these areas have received a fair bit of rain over the past 24 hours. For north-west Scotland, the far north-west of England and many parts of northern England it will be a dry start to the day with sunshine breaking through, although across Cheshire, Merseyside, Manchester and Staffordshire there is some patchy rain affecting these areas. Across much of Yorkshire, parts of north-east England and coastal areas of East Anglia there are some mist and fog patches to contend with this morning, which will gradually lift during the morning, although stubborn to lift in places. There will be an area of mainly light and patchy rain that will move across these areas later this morning. Patchy rain with the odd moderate burst is currently affecting parts of northern and central Wales, which will be rather persistent and slow to clear, extending into parts of the West Midlands. A better start across southern Wales, although there is a risk of some heavy, potentially thundery showers developing here later today. Overnight thundery rain is now clearing EA and SE England, so conditions will gradually improve here during the next hour or so. Across south-western parts of England there will be showers from the word go, some of these showers will be heavy and thundery in nature. The showers continuing to affect SW parts of England throughout the day, extending into parts of South Wales, central southern England and channel coasts through the day. Scotland: temperatures ranging from 8-12c, significantly cooler under rainfall across the northern Isles and eastern parts of Scotland. Southern parts: generally ranging from 12-14c. Temperatures will drop during showers. Wales: temperatures ranging from 9-13c. North-east England/East Anglia and Yorkshire & Lincolnshire temperatures will range from 10-13c.
