Good morning. Quite a week. For a variety of reasons, I didnt post or comment about what took place in Ferguson at all. Ill tell you this though, I certainly got a lot of messages and comments sent to me through social media. Some were nice, some not so nice, some I really didnt deserve at all. A couple comments stuck with me though, and I heard this one on the street as well. Basically, a few people commented that it must be tough for me at work these days in Scarborough with all the flack Police are getting. Actually, it wasnt hard at all. I never received any attitude, nobody challenged me on the street or in the schools, and I felt completely safe at all times, as they do when I respond to a call. Nothing changed at all, especially how I interact with the community which if you know me is open, honest, and to the best of my ability. This speaks a lot to the types of relationships that are being built and the level of trust which is shown on both sides, not just the Police. And Im thankful for that. Ill continue to do my job as usual friends, if you see me out there feel free to say hi or even buy me a coffee and donut or two, or six, or a dozen lol. Just kidding of course.
