Good morning... Risk of Severe Weather: Low, Locally Moderate Significant Weather: Fog/Freezing Fog. Icy Patches Wind: NW light or moderate in the E, W or SW’ly across the N and W, otherwise light and variable, especially in the south. Summary: A cold and frosty start, remaining fine and sunny across England and Wales, increasing cloud with some rain across Ireland and Scotland. It’s a cold and frosty start to the day across many areas this Monday morning, with the first widespread frost of the season. Also some icy patches are in evidence in places, especially across areas where some heavy rain was present this past weekend. Also be aware of some localised fog and freezing fog patches in places, especially across parts of Wales, Midlands and into S England. As the morning progresses plenty of late autumn sunshine is expected and temperatures will start to slowly recover. By late morning and through into the afternoon cloud is expected to increase across Ireland and Scotland as a weakening frontal zone brings outbreaks of mainly light or moderate rain, though some locally heavy rain may develop across W Scotland for a short time. For the bulk of England and Wales though the fine and sunny weather will continue throughout the afternoon and with almost unbroken sunshine expected across the Midlands and S England during the early afternoon. Temperatures will soon fall away though underneath the clear skies after sunset during the latter half of the afternoon. Temperatures today will be near to average with highs ranging between 6C and 10C across many areas of the UK and as highlighted above temperatures will soon begin to fall away across England and Wales by the late afternoon.
