Good morning... Risk of Severe Weather: Medium, Locally High (primarily N Midlands and N England). Significant Weather: Snow. Icy Patches. Wind: Winds generally light and variable. Summary: Areas of sleet and snow continuing across parts of N England throughout the day, showery elsewhere with precipitation mainly falling as rain. Forecast: Another cold start with icy patches in places along with some sleet and snow, primarily, as forecast, across parts of the N Midlands and up into N England where there continues to be some accumulations across parts of Greater Manchester, Lancashire and into Yorkshire as well and patchy sleet and snow will continue here throughout the day with perhaps with some further slight accumulations, especially above 200m or so. For the majority of the UK, away from the above mentioned areas, the day is predominantly cloudy with some patchy rain and showers at times, especially across parts of Ireland, Wales and SW England. Some brighter intervals are possible, especially across E Ireland and also across parts of central and northern Scotland too. Into the evening with some further patchy areas of sleet and snow are possible across parts of N England and perhaps N Wales too, but the trend through the evening and overnight is for most areas to become dry with some clear spells and it will be another cold night with frost and icy conditions in places as well. Fog and freezing fog patches may also develop, especially across Wales, N England, Central and S Scotland and across Ireland and these may well be locally dense. Temperatures will be remain below average today way from Ireland and SW England where temperatures will rise to between 4C and 8C. Across the bulk of England, Wales and Scotland temperatures will range between 2C and 5C and once again across higher ground of N England and Scotland and especially where there is snow cover then temperatures will struggle to rise much above freezing.
