Good morning SpyderLovers, friends and family ☕️ For most - TopicsExpress

Good morning SpyderLovers, friends and family ☕️ For most of you this is your day off. I hope you get things done that need to be done and can spend some quality time with friends and family. You dont get today back so make the best of it while you can, dont waste it. Those of you that have been following my adventure know that I had a big storm chasing me yesterday most of the way to Springfield but it never caught me. I left my friends house before they got up and Im sorry I didnt get to say goodbye but I saw a small window of opportunity and I had to take it or else I was going to be very wet. I still put on my gear and most of the time that means I wont get wet. I dont know why it works that way but if you ride you know what Im talking about. The other reason I didnt want to ride in the rain if I could help it was because my rear tire was pretty much shot. I didnt even look at it till I was about a 100 miles from home because I didnt want to know how bad it was. I didnt need to worry about something I couldnt do anything about. It turned out to be okay and wasnt showing any cord so I guess I made the right choice this time. The RT ran great on this trip. I have a little over 11k on it now and it is by far the best cruising Spyder Ive owned. That 1330 motor just loves to purr around 80 mph and I still get 32-36 mpg with a loaded trailer. Im stopping now around 140-170 miles instead of 100-120 miles. Thats about right for me on a trip like this. There was a lot of long open road and I was able to really open her up and Im really happy how well it handles at speed. I have a 100% confidence in this bike to take it anywhere and back without issue. I may need a tire or two on the trip but the Spyder is road worthy for sure. So thinking about the storm that was chasing me yesterday I thought to myself that Ive been through a lot of storms on this trip. Some I was able to avoid and some I had to gear up and plow through. Ive been soaked to the bone and Ive been cold. There were times that the rain was so heavy that I couldnt see what was ahead of me. Then there were days like yesterday that I missed the storm all together. The bottom line is if youre going to ride youre going to go through storms. Life is much the same, if you want to continue on this road we call life you can bet youre going to ride through some storms along the way. Some of these storms will leave damage. Some of these storms will cause you to put your gear on (prayer). Some of these storms will make you stronger and some of these storms will make you lose the desire to ride if you let it. I know that Im not afraid of the next storm anymore because Ive punched through some of the worst storms of my life and Im the better for it. I know more are headed my way but they are on my radar and Ill gear up now for it so Im ready when they come, and they will come. So if you see a storm coming or youre in the middle of one now, be encouraged that while it may not be pleasant for the time, it will pass and you will be more prepared for the next one and there will be sunshine between the storms and you need to make the most of those times while you can. Have a great day and know you are loved. 😎🙏
