Good morning TRANCEFAM! I decided to write up a little Behind The Music if you will for my most recent collab Because Youre Here with Canadian producer Somna Benjamin Leung. BYH was a song I wrote a year ago and sat on until I could find the right producer. I met Somna thru a music contact and loved his remix of my song Higher with Rafael Frost so I figured would be cool to see what he could do with BYH! Sure enough he sent me his demo and I had tears!! This song is a special one to me, and not because its written about anything or anyone particular. I have chosen to remain single for 4 years now (gasp! Yes its ok ladies, and gentlemen, to enjoy being single or remain single while waiting for a decent one to come along. Grandma doesnt understand this however. In fact she recently said to me Jenny, why dont you stop all this traveling and find a nice local boy and settle down. Grandma should have been a comedian!). What I love about this song is that it challenged me as a writer. Instead of writing about hurt or heartbreak, it challenged my thinking to write about being happy, content, and comfortable in a relationship with someone. After all, this is what real love is all about! Its refreshing to take a step outside the box and write something from a different perspective.
