Good morning! The heat wave that we have been experiencing for - TopicsExpress

Good morning! The heat wave that we have been experiencing for much of this week is finally over! The Heat Advisory expired last night at 7:00, but before that happened, we did tie or break a couple of high minimum temperatures (or “warm low”). The lowest temperature that Mitchell Int’l observed both Thursday and Friday was 79°, which is the warmest low that was ever observed on Thursday and tied for the warmest on Friday. I was not told of any record high temperatures that we broke or tied, but we did come very close many days. Nevertheless, the heat wave is over and things are starting to cool down. Currently, Batten Int’l is reporting 77° to me with a heat index of 79°. This is very low in comparison to heat indices in the past few days that have been well into the 100°s. Mostly sunny skies are being observed and will be observed throughout the day. Temperatures will not change too much throughout the day as a “back door” cold front moves in off of Lake Michigan, preventing our temperatures from rising. Chances of thunderstorms return Sunday afternoon/evening and will continue through the first half of next week. Through the end of the day today, Racine County Weather will remain on limited functionalities. I may not be able to post at any given time today in the event that a severe weather bulletin was to be issued. I don’t see that being the case, however I do have someone on standby in the event that a bulletin is issued. Full functionalities will return to Racine County Weather on Sunday. Thank you for your cooperation. Enjoy your weekend! -Alex Moxon (9:37 AM CDT)
