Good morning! Todays Devotion Topic: His Blood On Our Heads? Text: Mat 27: 25 All the people answered, Let his blood be on us and on our children! Amen. When our Lord Jesus was betrayed, arrested and brought before Pilate for questioning and subsequently, judgement, He would not answer a word, amazingly. At the time, it was the custom to release one perceived criminal by the choice of the people. Pilate did not see any fault with Jesus and thus wanted to free Him. What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called Christ? Pilate asked. They all answered, Why? What crime has he committed? asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, Crucify him! Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. I am innocent of this mans blood, he said. It is your responsibility! Matt. 27:22-24. All the people answered, Let his blood be on us and on our children! The people knew not exactly what confessions they were making but through the mercies of God, the blood that brings redemption has come upon us; we the children of our fore fathers. This blood brings us the total forgiveness of sins and restores us back to God. Let us not take the mercies of God for granted and reject the salvation of Jesus through His holy blood, so rich and free. The blood of Jesus forgives, heals, protects and restores whatever has been lost to satan through sin. It even speaks better things than that of Abel. Look within your heart this morning, did you ask Jesus as your Lord and saviour yet? Are you washed in the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb? Is your garment spotless and as white as snow? Begin to pray now, plead the blood on your life and on your childrens children. Rise up, let us meet at church today. All who have been redeemed and washed by the blood will be there too. Together, we will celebrate Jesus for the work of the blood, partake in the holy communion and receive grace to carry on in this pilgrimage. Remember, we overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. See you
