Good morning! We have a Latvian saying „Taisi ratus ziemā, ragavas - vasarā” literally indicating that one must make carts in wintertime but sleighs – during the summer. It basically urges people to be prepared for what’s to come. And, if history is anything to go by, the young Latvian snowboarder Toms Petrusevičs surely is destined for greatness. Already having added three champion titles to his name – Latvian, Baltic and European – Toms is starting to prepare for the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi next year. But his dedication and skill on the slopes is not enough to get him through all the Olympic qualifying rounds of the World Cup, he needs financial support. That is why a number of cool people have come together to aid him on his way to becoming the first Latvian to stand on the starting line of the Olympic snowboard track. If you’re in Latvia, do drop by this charity event with entry for donations that will help Toms get to Sochi. Let’s make him that sleigh together! :)
