Good morning, We start the morning with some showers affecting the South East and the West Midlands. A very heavy pulse of rain is currently moving eastwards from South West England which will affect areas south of the M4 corridor throughout this morning. If we head towards Wales the next batch of very heavy rainfall is moving in with some bright echos showing on the radar. This particular area of precipitation will move from west to east throughout the day and will affect Wales, West Midlands, parts of Staffordshire, Derbyshire and later Southern most parts of Lincolnshire and the East Midlands. The precipitation should clear into the North Sea with the northern most extent just north of the Wash. Showers will develop behind the main band of precipitation, some of these will be increasingly heavy and thundery, particularly across Wales the West Midlands and parts of the South. The energy will transfer eastwards so dont be surprised to experience a thundery downpour just about anywhere across the Southern half of the United Kingdom. Further north a few showers will affect North West England to start the day but later in the day we may see another pulse of heavy rain moving in across the North West extending east affecting Yorkshire. The further north you are the drier the day with just a risk of one or two isolated showers developing. This includes North East England and Scotland. Heavy showers and localised thunderstorms may also develop across Northern Ireland this afternoon and the early evening. Temperatures ranging from 10-14c across most of England and Wales with maximums of 16, possibly 17c for South East England and parts of the South. Temperatures ranging from 9-13c across Scotland. Its a really messy day out there. We will keep you updated throughout the day. Whatever the weather, have a lovely day. Lewis
