Good morning! What a glorious day yesterday was. I felt the urge to do some spring cleaning. However my better judgement prevailed and I ended up sitting with a beer in hand and enjoying the lovely weather. But, spring cleaning reminds me of a story..... Many years ago my father decided to clean out our garage. In lieu of a shed, the garage was the catch-all for all of our yard tools and off-season items. When he was done, the garage was spotless. Everything was beautifully arranged and put away. We couldnt understand how he had tamed all of the clutter. We did notice that our trash cans were pretty full, but he said there was a lot of junk in them. So we sailed through summer and then came fall. Where were the rakes? No one knew. Then winter came and my mother started looking for the snow tires. Nowhere to be found. Snow shovels? Peters ice skates? Gone. When asked, Ruppert blurted out ~ well, the garage had too much in it and I knew you werent using any of those things then. For heavens sake, someone has to do things around here! Oh, how I miss that man! Back to the present...todays soup is a puree of peas with garlic croutons. Our specials are a grilled cheese sandwich, German style meatballs and a breaded single pork tenderloin. The desserts are chocolate pudding and orange cake. See you on Fort Street!
