Good morning. Whats going on around these here parts? (Trying to talk with a Western accent.) Well, we told you about the construction planned between Jourdanton and Pleasanton. Now, they probably will do it in sections, but it will still be a bit of a pain if youre in a hurry, so best plan is to get up a little earlier (gulp!) and get an early start on your commute. Be courteous, be nice and youll get where you are going in one piece. Construction starts Wednesday, by the way. Atascosa County Commissioners Court will meet this morning at 9 a.m. with a pretty full agenda, and Governor Perry will take that 86 million dollar border security proposal to the Legislative Board today. And a State Representative is proposing what sounds to me like a very common sense idea: Quit suspending little boys for making guns out of pop tarts! Gee whiz. When I was a little kid we had a daily massacre on the school playground with cap guns, squirt guns or just whatever we could improvise. Lots of games of cowboys and Indians, folks.
