Good morning. When Barack Obama ran in 2008 for President, he promised to fundamentally transform America. When the Tea Party was formed in 2009, it promised to fight back against Obama’s transformation and save America. Whether we can still save America is a question that has not been decided. There is no doubt that Obama has fundamentally transformed America and not for the better. Americans now face a new normal. This not a good new normal but we had better get used to it and adapt. At least until we can reverse the massive damage Obama has done to America. What is this new normal and what do we have to do? America had the greatest healthcare system in the world. We can now use the past tense on that. Obamacare is scheduled to kick in on January 1, 2014. It will destroy healthcare in America. Within a few years, there will be doctor shortages and we will see rationed care, just as we see in socialist nations. Conservatives rant about the “death panels” and rationing of care but where is the personal responsibility for our health that goes with our beliefs? While the failure of healthcare is not a good thing, there are opportunities here. First, we can use the free market to create cheaper and better healthcare outside of the government. Second, it is long past time for conservatives to start leading the way in self-care. When you go to a Tea Party meeting or another meeting of conservatives, how many fat people do you see? I’m not talking just slightly chubby, but I mean can’t see their toes for their belly fat. Michelle Obama screeches about obesity in America. Being the statist that she is, she wants the government to order weight reduction. Liberty does mean you have the right to be stupid. However, since conservatives are smarter than liberals, why would we want to be unhealthy? Obesity is linked to many diseases, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and other maladies. Back in April, I hit the scale and it boldly went where it had never been before. I decided to exercise some personal responsibility and I started a diet I refer to as the Tea Party diet. The Tea Party diet is a diet that involves knowledge. This diet is very simple. I started looking at how many calories were in what I was eating. The average human needs about 2000 calories a day to maintain their weight. I started counting the calories I ate per day. I cut out sweets, such as ice cream and was satisfied with about 1000 calories a day. The result is after three months I have lost 25 pounds. I have cut my hypertension medication in half and hope that three months from now I will be off it all together. Conservatives think of ourselves as self-reliant people. We do not depend on the government for our needs. If Obamacare does kick in, healthcare rationing will be our future. We conservatives should remember that preventative care, such as weight loss is the best way of keeping ourselves away from Obamacare’s death panels.
